Virtual Clubs

WBExL is offering virtual clubs this winter.

 

Thanks to WBExL’s new Winter 2021 Virtual Club series, students can explore a new subject, learn new skills, improve existing ones and cooperate with others – all from the comfort of their own couch. Each class is taught using Zoom by a talented member of our staff. Start Date: February 1, 2021

Knitting Club

Staff: Ms. Binita 

Grade: All

Day/time: Monday, 4:00-4:45 pm

Price: $50

 

The Knitting Club is for students who want to learn the basic skills of knitting. Learn how to knit while getting a chance to chat with your friends from the comfort of your own couch! Students will master their focus and hand-to-eye coordination as Ms. Binita teaches them how to take a knitting project from start to finish. Students will build a foundation of the basic skills of knitting so they can continue sharpening their skills on their own. Who wants a scarf? Winter is here!

 

Spanish Club

Grade: All

Day/time: Wednesday, 4:00-4:30 p.m.

Price: $50

 

This Spanish course will introduce students to basic Spanish vocabulary. Using music and pictures as pedagogical tools, the course will expose students to animals, common household items, colors, numbers, emotions and basic greetings. They say the younger you are, the easier it is to learn a new language. So here is a great opportunity! 

 

Experimental Art

Day/time: Tuesday, 4:00-4:30 p.m.

Students will engage in various activities including sensory play and fine and gross motor skills all while getting to socialize with friends. This club is a great combination of art and science. Students will experiment with different materials and techniques to discover the unique results that come from using various tools and strategies. So, let’s make a mess and some new friends all at the same time!

 

Dungeons & Dragons

Grades: 2nd, 3rd, 4th 

Number of Students: 8 

Day/time: Thursday, 4:30-5:30 p.m.

This course promises to be an 8-week adventure for students, where anything goes and nothing is what it seems. Dungeons and Dragons is a theatrical club where imagination rules everything around you. Students will get to take part in role-playing, work on their live-action theater skills while improving their organization and their ability to debate with peers. Students will develop characters and creatures and create their own mythical scenarios where anything can happen.  Let’s be honest, we could all use a break from the real world right now!

 

Storytime Club

The Virtual Book Club is all about encouraging the love of reading with different fun activities to go along with some featured books. Each week, we will explore and talk about a new book together. After each new story, students will enjoy activities based on that week’s story. So come discover some new books, learn, play, create and get lost in the amazing world of reading!

 

Virtual Fun & Games

Is your student a problem solver who enjoys a challenge? Then look no further. The Virtual Fun & Games Club will test student’s concentration, imagination and strategic skills. This super fun, highly motivational club will focus on promoting positive interactions with peers and the importance of fair play, all while developing critical thinking and communication skills. Game on!
